Project
My client needed to understand user behavior and choices in the litigation support services marketplace. This project is under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Client: Anonymous
Project Type: Individual Coursework
Timeline: June - July 2012
Methods & Deliverables: User Profiles, Interviews, Final Report
Tools: EchoSign, Google Voice
Process
Client Research. The client provided background information on litigation support and its own research. After reviewing all of the client's research goals, I focused on a few goals that would fit within the project's timeline.
User Population. Based on the client's research, I created preliminary user profiles. These profiles included information on user type, use habits, motivation, barriers, and opportunities.
Research Method. I analyzed various research methods for this project and decided on phone interviews. I considered the strengths and weaknesses of each method, but I chose the interview method due to geographical limitations of the participants and the project's timeline.
Interviews. I prepared interview questions for each user type and reviewed them with the client. Then, I interviewed 5 participants provided by the client. Each interview was an hour long and was recorded with the participant's consent.
Result
Report. After reviewing my notes and recordings, I provided redefined user profiles and summarized my findings based on the research goals. Also, I made recommendations for immediate action and follow-on research.
Lessons Learned.
Provide option for electronic signatures for consent forms sent through email.
